Get Ready For An Amazing Post-Super Bowl Glee!

A huge topic of speculation amongst Gleeks this year has been Glee's upcoming post-Super Bowl show. Considering that it is following the biggest sporting event of the year, naturally fans are expecting something HUGE to come out of Ryan Murphy's hit factory T.V. show. In the past, big episodes have been primarily tribute shows to pop music's biggest stars like Madonna and Brit-Brit.

Guess what? Ain't happening. Know what is?

A full-blown, epic MASH-UP of two iconic Michael Jackson songs!!! Amazing!
Right now, all we know is half of the equation, but it really is a biggie. The kids of McKinley will be tackling arguably MJ's biggest hit ever, Thriller! Totally rad, right?

But wait, there's more!

Sources explain that this is bound to go down as one of the most expensive episodes in the show's history and will feature cover songs from OTHER artists besides MJ, like the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry.

Want more? Fine, here's more!

The episode won't be a tribute show, but it will in it's own way be dedicated to it's on-air predecessor. The theme of the episode will be sports, following the school's football team and Sue Sylvester's Cheerios as they head into major sporting competitions. Gleeks can expect appearances from Darren Criss (squeal!) and Dot-Marie Jones as Coach Beiste and as General Motors is co-sponsoring the episode, more than likely the episode will be longer with limited commercial interruptions.

And we're spent…and completely stoked. This doesn't sound like it's going to disappoint any Gleeker out there!

Royal Wedding To Happen!

By now, everyone on the planet knows that Prince William has finally taken the plunge and asked his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton to marry him.

The royal family's reactions were ecstatic especially his father, Prince Charles, who told the press he was "thrilled" to hear the news and even tried to make a little funny about it. He told sources, "They've been practicing for long enough."

Meanwhile, William's younger brother Prince Harry echoed his father's sentiments, at least the ones about being happy for his brother. He told sources:
"I am delighted my brother has popped the question! It means I get a sister, which I have always wanted."
Aw! How nice! One big extraordinarily rich and powerful family.
While Buckingham Palace will be abuzz with wedding plans for the next several months, the world is preparing itself to broadcast the biggest event of the coming year. Almost a billion people watched Prince William's father marry his mother, Princess Diana and sources are projecting that this wedding will garner far more millions of eyeballs! A BBC spokesperson explained:
“Today's news will be greeted with huge interest and excitement and we very much hope we will be able to broadcast the service to the U.K. and the world. If that is the case, there is no doubt the wedding will be enjoyed by one of the biggest audiences in history.”
Hold up! You think the royal family might veto broadcasting the wedding to the world? No fair! We've all been waiting for this day for like, ever! No way we're being kept out of the fun!

T.Swift And Jake Gyllenhaal Are Heating Up

Sources are reporting that while Jake Gyllenhaal was in London this week, promoting his new movie Love and Other Drugs, he started to get this feeling, this lonely feeling. His heart yearned to be close to his new lady love, Taylor Swift, but alas, she was still in the U.S.

Easy fix to that though- charter a private plane and get her booty across the pond!

And that's exactly what he did! Sources reporting that over the weekend, Jake threw down more than $150K to fly T.Swift over to London so he could spend some "quality time" together.

Military Recruiters Must Accept Gay Applicants!

Success!

Following the limited suspension of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, recruiters have been informed that they MUST accept gay applicants starting this week!

A Pentagon spokeswoman confirmed this morning that top-level personnel have been alerted of the change and have been asked to act accordingly. However, they have also been given the go ahead to inform recruits that the moratorium could be reversed at any time, which hopefully won't happen.

If brave men and women want to serve, our military should be happy to have them, regardless of their personal lives.

We're making progress!

How To Help Stop Gay Suicides

Here's what we've learned about gay teen suicides: it takes a village to make them happen, and also to make them stop. Yes, those kids who recently took their lives in cities across the country were particularly targeted by particular bullies. But both the bullies and their victims were caught up in systemic webs of hatred, ideology and culture. Our religious leaders, politicians and community leaders are all responsible, as are all of us, for spreading the fundamental message that gay is not okay, a message that is lethal and insidious.
The good news is that because we're all responsible, there are things all of us can do. Here are a few suggestions for students and young adults in particular, based on my 10 years of being a LGBT community activist and counselor.

"Come out" as LGBT or as an ally.

First and most importantly, "come out," whether you're gay, straight, bisexual, questioning, transgender, lesbian, queer, or whatever, as a supporter of equality. Every study that has been done on homophobia and public opinion of gays has shown the same thing: the most important factor is knowing gay people, or at least knowing visible allies. It's not geography or ideology; it's personal contact. If you're LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender), just being yourself is a form of political activism. Obviously, you have to decide when it's safe to be flamboyant and when it's wise to be discreet. But know that simply by showing up, you are opening people's minds.
This is true for allies, as well. It can be as simple as wearing rainbow pins, or "Gay? Fine By Me" t-shirts, or other ways to show your solidarity. But that's just the beginning. When someone in school says, "That's so gay!" let them know that "gay" is not a synonym for "stupid." If you're in an all-straight crowd and someone makes a homophobic remark, don't let it slide -- call them on it, just like you (hopefully) would if they said something anti-Semitic or racist. Bit by bit, homophobia will become socially unacceptable, instead of part of the everyday culture of high schools and some colleges.

Start a gay-straight alliance club.

In terms of formal volunteering, one way students can get involved is by starting gay-straight alliances (GSAs) at schools, camps, yeshivas, youth groups, and just about anywhere else. Of course, it's kind of weird to have a GSA with no (out) gay people in it. But think about it: if you were gay and not so sure it was safe to come out, imagine how important it would be to you simply to know that the GSA existed. Even if no gay kid ever joins your GSA, its mere existence has a huge impact on closeted kids, and on would-be homophobes and bullies. There are resources for how to do this online.

Take action in your religious community.

Here's the thing: LGBT people have been actively excluded from most mainstream religious denominations for hundreds of years. So if churches and synagogues really want to be welcoming, they have to be proactive. There should be an "LGBT" tab on their websites, and an LGBT social group. Pastors and rabbis should periodically talk about LGBT issues. And you, as a gay person or an ally, can help make that happen by talking to the leaders of your church or synagogue and getting them to institute these simple changes.
Chances are, your spiritual or community leader will say, "But we are welcoming! We just don't have any gay people!" Ask them how they know that. Ask them what they've done to balance out those 500 years of oppression with proactive statements and deeds. Once again, even if no gay people actually come out of the woodwork in your religious community, just taking these public statements can have a massive impact. They send a clear message: that sexual diversity is natural and healthy, and that all people are truly welcome -- even, if you like, made in God's image.

There are a lot of problems in the world today. Millions of people die every year from preventable disease, our economic system is in disarray, and the world is getting hotter every day. Equality for LGBT people is only one of many important issues -- but unlike some of those other ones, this is a problem we can do something about in our home communities. Equality for LGBT people is ultimately local, and ultimately personal. We're not going to change hearts from the top down; we're going to do it person to person, neighbor to neighbor. Whether you're an ally or LGBT yourself, wherever you find yourself, you can make a difference, bit by bit, like the force of water eroding a stone.

Mayor Bloomberg Loves The Gays!

While delivering a speech at the 30th annual Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays Awards Dinner on Monday, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg addressed homophobic remarks that have been in the press (aka Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino) and pleaded for tolerance.

He said:
"Let me be clear, these incidents are completely unacceptable. They're intolerable in a city in which tolerance is what defines us. They're unacceptable in a city in which embracing our differences is what makes us strong. Because when any New Yorker is attacked because of who they are or who they love, the fabric that binds us together is torn. That's why these attacks are attacks on us all, and why they can never, ever be allowed. Especially when it comes to our kids.
To those who have been the target of bullying and bias, whether you happen to be in this room or in any neighborhood in the city, I say this: this great city stands with you. We believe in you. We want you here. We will do anything in our power to keep you safe. And we will do everything in our power to punish those who dare threaten the well being of our citizens.
As I said over the weekend, the perpetrators of the abuse and torture in the Bronx will be spared no mercy. At the same time, we will continue — with the help of PFLAG — reinforcing in our public schools what is the most comprehensive anti-bullying policy of its kind in the nation. Because building a city of honesty and respect and civility begins with our children.
This city's greatest strength has always been its diversity and openness. There are moments when that is challenged, when some argue for closing, rather than opening doors -for closing, rather than opening our hearts.
But I am confident that will never happen, in part because of your energy and advocacy. And clearly, as we note on this night of celebration, that good work is needed now, more than ever before.
So let me close by saying that our city — and our nation — have come a long way, but our journey is not yet complete. I wish for you the same thing I wish for any parent in this city: the joy of seeing your son or daughter fall in love, the joy of walking your son or daughter down the aisle on the most important day of their lives. Government should not be in the business of telling anyone whom he or she can and cannot love. And believe me, I will fight with you every single day to make that a reality. Good night, and God bless."
Powerful!

New Chelsea Show!!!

Chelsea Handler has been given the chance by her nurturing ex-boyfriend employers at E! to start up a new comedy called After Lately.

The network picked up an eight episode order of the half-hour comedy about the backstage goings-on at her E! late night show Chelsea Lately. And we weren't kidding when we said it would be like Curb. Sources explain that the show will follow a "story outline" format, so expect several unplanned shenanigans throughout. When asked about the new project, Chelsea explained:

"The show is a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at our office when the cameras are off. … A perfect platform for people who have no business being on camera."

The cast will include members of the Lately staff frequently seen on the roundtable like Guy Branum, Sarah Colonna, Heather McDonald, Chris Franjola, and Brad Wollack.

We'll see how it goes. If it takes off, consider the network officially owned by the state of NJ! Girl is making them bank!

Think U will tune in for the show?
